Countryfile turns Brits into Isle of Manophites
Famous for its TT racing, the Isle of Man’s recent programme visit by the BBC on the 10 January has led to an increase in popularity.
Everymann Holidays - operating in partnership with leading UK independent tour operator, Premier Holidays – has experienced a steady uplift in holiday bookings this year, following the BBC Countryfile visit to the Isle of Man and the recent release of Me and Orson Welles, starring Zac Efron and Claire Danes.
“There is no doubt that the airing of the latest Countryfile episode has helped to highlight the island’s diverse range of activities and attractions,” says Beverley Scarr, General Manager of short haul product at Premier Holidays.
“As a result, bookings are off to a fantastic start, with passenger figures up 15 per cent and average spend also up by 20 per cent.
“There has never been a better time to visit the island. Hotels are providing fabulous value added offers in 2010, including free nights, free half-board and additional shoulder season reductions. The Mount Murray Hotel and Country Club has a fantastic weekend offer, with Sunday night stays for free for £125 per person for a three night break, valid all year round. If you’re looking for an affordable break with a twist, Isle of Man is definitely worth considering,” says Scarr.
The new Everymann Holidays Isle of Man brochure includes a flexible range of holidays from four-star hotel weekend breaks to week-long self-catering family breaks. Travel is available by sea or from 16 regional airports around the UK.
