Press release - Taba Heights
Who Says Salt is Bad for your Health?
Egypt’s first ever Salt Cave, which will be made entirely of salt from the Dead Sea and the Siwa Oasis, is due to open in the luxury Red Sea resort of Taba Heights.
Owing to the precious salt used, the unique chamber, which will open in July 2010, will have a beneficial influence on mood and wellbeing and aims to provide energy to revitalise strength and good health.
A stay in the Salt Cave can also aid the treatment of many ailments, including dermatological diseases, nervous system disorders, metabolic disturbances, digestive tract problems, underproduction of hyperthyroidism, heart disease and illnesses of the respiratory tract.
“We are really excited about the Salt Cave – it perfectly complements the serenity of Taba Heights and we are proud to provide such a beneficial outlet for the wellbeing of our guests”, says Omar El Halaby, VP marketing for Orascom Development.
The resort’s new Salt Cave uses salt from the Dead Sea because of its high concentration of minerals, which are rated among the most precious sources of health and beauty.
Siwa Oasis Salt is also used for its health and beauty purposes, which originate from the ancient times of Alexander the Great.
The Salt Cave floor will be covered with a thick layer of salt crystals and the ceiling will feature salt stalactites, which create a unique microclimate.
The lighting will promote positive feelings and the colour therapy will calm the senses and soften the mood.
The air in the cave will also aid health and will include iodine, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, bromine and selenium.
The new Salt Cave will be around 100 metres in size and will be located in Taba Heights’ Uptown area.
A session in the chamber takes 45 minutes and guests can make their experience last by purchasing salt cosmetics, salt lamps and salt candles, all of which are 100 per cent natural and environmentally friendly.
Luxurious Taba Heights is nestled in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula and offers views of four countries – Egypt, Israel, Jerusalem and Saudi Arabia.
